Fulton County Big Creek Water Reclamation Facility Receives Prestigious Honor

The Fulton County Big Creek Water Reclamation Facility is being recognized for its outstanding design by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers & Scientists. The Department of Public Works received news of the national recognition in late February.
Public Works leaders will be notified of the level of achievement in April during an awards luncheon in Washington, DC. This accolade highlights Public Works’ unwavering commitment to excellence and Fulton County’s reputation as a leader in wastewater management within the state of Georgia. The recognition is a testament to the dedication of the plant’s staff, who continuously strive to maintain high operational standards and environmental stewardship.
“When Fulton County initially began planning to build Big Creek, the goal was to create a state-of-the art facility with the best technology,” said Director of Public Works David Clark. “This is Fulton County’s largest infrastructure investment to date, and it benefits all residents.”
The American Academy of Environmental Engineers & Scientists is one of several recent honors bestowed on the Department of Public Works for the Big Creek facility. The team is celebrating a total of 8 national and state awards including:
