Lars Minns Joins RedefinED Atlanta's Board of Directors

RedefinED Atlanta, a locally based champion of K–12 public education, today announced that Lars Minns, Chief Human Resources Officer for Mercedes-Benz North America, has joined its board of directors. Minns joins the board as RedefinED Atlanta enters its second decade of working to ensure every Metro Atlanta student has access to trajectory-changing K–12 public education options.

Lars understands that strong talent pipelines and strong public schools are inextricably linked, and his insights will help us continue expanding opportunity for students across the region.”

The organization also expressed its gratitude to Patrice Johnson for her three years of service and to Curley M. Dossman, Jr., a founding board member, for his 10 years of leadership and insight as they step down from board service. “We are also profoundly grateful to Patrice and Curley for their years of guidance and unwavering commitment, which have helped shape RedefinED Atlanta into the organization it is today and prepare us for the future,” added Sceusi.

As Chief HR Officer for Mercedes-Benz North America, Lars Minns leads the organization in designing, implementing, and executing HR strategies that directly align with the company’s strategic objectives for the Sales, Marketing, and Distribution of Passenger Cars, Vans and parts in the United States and Canada. Under his leadership, the organization is undergoing one of the largest transformations in the automotive industry in its pursuit to be the most desired electric luxury brand in North America.

Prior to joining Mercedes-Benz, he served as the Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition for The Home Depot’s At Home Services commonly referred to as the “Do it For Me” business. He led his team in executing talent acquisition strategies for the company’s fastest growing business segment.

He is a member of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank’s Human Capital Advisory Council, the Society HR Management’s Executive Council, Leadership Atlanta, along with serving other civic organizations in metro Atlanta and the Bahamas.

Lars earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Hampton University in Hampton, Va.
