Selig Enterprises, one of Atlanta’s most storied family-owned commercial real estate companies, today announced the promotion of Malloy Peterson to Chief Operating Officer. A foundational executive on Selig’s development team, Peterson steps into this role at the helm of new leadership with plans to implement the company’s strategic vision, bolster the firm’s development pipeline and sharpen its operational focus, including optimizing its portfolio, recruitment and retention.

Positioned for What’s Next

With a robust and diversified portfolio of more than 15 million square feet across the Southeast, Selig enters its 108th year from a position of exceptional strength. Under the new Co-CEO leadership of Mindy Selig and Greg Lewis, the company is advancing a strategic vision centered on expanding its development pipeline, growing its operational capabilities and deepening the long-term relationships that have defined Selig for over a century. Peterson’s appointment as COO is central to that vision.

“Malloy has been instrumental in some of the most significant development work this company has undertaken in recent years, and her instincts for people, for projects, and for what this company is capable of are exactly what this moment calls for,” said Lewis. “As we grow our pipeline and enter the next decade at Selig, having her in this role gives us tremendous confidence.”

A Team-First Culture Built to Last

At the heart of Selig’s growth strategy is a conviction that has guided the company across four generations: the strength of the team is the strength of the company. Peterson is well-positioned to take Selig forward as she has demonstrated significant dedication to the company’s growth. Since joining Selig in 2017, Peterson has served as lead development executive for The Works, the company’s award-winning 80-acre mixed-use development on Atlanta’s Upper Westside, and has contributed to landmark projects including 1105 West Peachtree.

“This is a company that invests in our values, in our community and in our people,” said Mindy Selig. “Malloy embodies what we look for in a leader. She delivers results, elevates everyone around her, and is deeply committed to the long-term vision. We are excited for what she will bring to this role and to the future we are building together.”

“I am honored to step into this role at such a dynamic moment for Selig Enterprises,” said Peterson. “The opportunity ahead of us is real. We have a talented team and a platform that has been built and refined for more than a century. My focus will be on making sure our operations are as strong as our ambitions, and that we continue to attract and develop the kind of people who make this company what it is.”

In addition to her work at Selig, Peterson serves on the Board of Directors for the Upper Westside CID, is a board member of the Midtown Improvement District, Chair for the City of Atlanta Development Impact Committee, and is a member of the Georgia Tech Planning, Development, and Construction Committee.

As Selig Enterprises enters its 108th year, the company remains guided by the same principle that has shaped it since 1918; that you can never do wrong by doing right. With a seasoned new leadership team, a clear strategic direction and a culture built on people and relationships, the company is well-positioned to write the next chapter of its storied history.
