As the nation approaches the historic milestone of its 250th anniversary, the Gwinnett Chamber’s annual Washington, D.C. Fly-In sponsored by Jackson EMC carried added significance—offering a timely opportunity to reflect on America’s enduring spirit of free enterprise while actively shaping the policies that will define its next chapter.

Business leaders from Gwinnett engaged directly with government officials on pro-business priorities for Gwinnett and the broader Georgia economy. Meetings on Capitol Hill included discussions with members of Georgia’s congressional delegation, including Congressmen Andrew Clyde, Mike Collins, Hank Johnson, and Senator Raphael Warnock. These conversations centered on federal policies impacting economic development, infrastructure investment, healthcare reform, workforce readiness, and regulatory certainty for businesses.

The group continued its partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, receiving a legislative briefing from Nick Crocker, Vice President and Managing Director of Government Affairs. Crocker, a Gwinnett native, highlighted the top economic priorities at the federal level like permitting reform, pro-growth tax measures, and immigration.

U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach welcomed the group with an overview of his role of overseeing the U.S. Mint, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and Fort Knox. Beach, who previously served in the Georgia General Assembly as a State Senator for 13 years, also delved into his work with Tribal governments and Indigenous communities to promote economic prosperity. Complementing his remarks was an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of BEP with Director Patricia Colimene. Attendees saw first-hand how U.S. currency is produced and distributed.

The Gwinnett Chamber’s Washington Fly-In continues to serve as a critical platform for amplifying the voice of business and advancing free enterprise principles that drive growth, competition, and innovation. We thank the congressional delegation for their leadership and partnership in championing policies that will help ensure America’s legacy endures for the next 250 years.
