Atlanta Public Schools Earn Single Statewide Accountability System Awards
Tuesday, April 28th, 2026
Eleven (11) Atlanta Public Schools have earned high praise from the state office that oversees student achievement.
Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) released its statewide list of schools that earned Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) Awards on Monday and Atlanta Public Schools earned among the highest number of SSAS Award Winners for 2025 (2025-2026 school year).
“We are tremendously proud that GOSA has presented our schools with this award,” said APS Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson. “It is a great honor when the state office that is charged with measuring student achievement recognizes a school for the hard work of its teachers, administrators, students, and community. We look forward to many more of our schools receiving this honor next year, and in the years to come.”
To validate the sustainability of a school’s performance, testing results and data from the three most recent school years (2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025) were used to identify award recipients in two categories – Greatest Gains and Highest Performing – and each category includes four tiers: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
