Georgia’s Own Credit Union, the third-largest credit union in Georgia, today announced the hiring of Brad Johnson as its new commercial manager. This move further strengthens the organization’s commercial banking capabilities.
Johnson brings more than two decades of experience in financial services. Over his 23 years with SunTrust and Chase, he held roles across multiple units, including wealth management, business and commercial banking. He most recently served as a senior commercial banker for First Carolina Bank
“Brad’s extensive experience across multiple areas of banking serves as a great asset to Georgia’s Own,” said Dave Preter, president and CEO of Georgia’s Own Credit Union. “His deep understanding of commercial relationships makes him a valuable addition to our team as we continue to grow and serve businesses across Georgia.”
A native of Atlanta, Johnson is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He lives in East Cobb with his wife, Gini, and their dog, Gus. He has two children, including a son who lives locally and a daughter who works at a fly fishing ranch in Colorado. In his free time, Johnson enjoys reading, playing tennis and pickleball, watching sports and traveling to national parks.
“I’m thrilled to join Georgia’s Own and be part of an organization that is so deeply committed to investing in its community,” said Johnson. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to support local businesses and contribute to the credit union’s continued success.”
