The LifeLink Foundation today announced the appointment of Dr. Clark Kensinger as Chief Medical Officer, further strengthening the organization’s clinical leadership and ongoing commitment to advancing organ donation.

A nationally respected multi-organ transplant surgeon and board-certified intensivist, Dr. Kensinger specializes in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation and currently serves as Surgical Director of Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation at the Piedmont Transplant Institute.

Dr. Kensinger has worked closely with LifeLink since 2021 as a LifeLink Medical Director and played a key leadership role in developing the LifeLink of Georgia Donor Care Unit at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital - an innovative initiative designed to coordinate collaboration between hospital teams and organ procurement professionals while enhancing care for organ donors and their families.

This expanded role will help align our clinical teams across West Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to expand best practices and further develop our research and innovation efforts.”

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kensinger will oversee LifeLink Medical Directors and Associate Medical Directors for continued excellence across the three LifeLink service areas. Working closely together with hospital partners and LifeLink teams, Dr. Kensinger will also support research initiatives and expand education about the safety and life-saving impact of organ donation.
