Tuesday, April 14th, 2026

The Piedmont Park Conservancy today announced that the honorable 61st Mayor of Atlanta Andre Dickens will speak at the 29th Annual Landmark Luncheon, presented by The Speedwell Foundation, on April 23, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Promenade at Piedmont Park.

Landmark Luncheon, one of Atlanta’s premier civic and philanthropic gatherings, unites community leaders, supporters and Park advocates to spotlight the impact of the city’s most visited green space. The annual event, presented by The Speedwell Foundation, will center on the theme “Putting the Plan in Motion: Progress, Impact and What Comes Next,” highlighting the Piedmont Park Conservancy’s role as stewards of the Park in partnership with the City of Atlanta.

The 2026 Landmark Luncheon builds on the momentum of the Park’s first Comprehensive Plan in 25 years and will showcase meaningful progress already underway. Over the past year, that progress has taken shape through a series of significant enhancements:

  • Renovation of the Pool and Aquatic Center
  • Resurfacing of the Active Oval
  • Restoration of Legacy Fountain
  • Installation of a new garden at the 10th Street entrance
  • Unveiling of Myriad, a new public art installation

The Conservancy has also expanded its community impact through increased public programming and seven-day-a-week Park coverage through enhanced operations staffing.

“Piedmont Park belongs to all of Atlanta. Its success is a direct reflection of the strength of our public-private partnership and the passion of this community. The Landmark Luncheon is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together,” said President and CEO of Piedmont Park Conservancy Doug Widener.

Piedmont Park remains one of Atlanta’s most cherished public places and serves as the city’s “Green Heart,” playing a vital role in supporting health, vitality and quality of life for residents and visitors alike. The continued partnership between the City of Atlanta and the Conservancy ensures the Park remains vibrant, accessible and equipped to grow alongside the city.

The Luncheon will also spotlight the Conservancy’s Fund-A-Need initiative, which supports continued care of the Park, expanded programming and volunteer opportunities, historic preservation efforts and advancement of the Park’s first Comprehensive Plan in more than two decades.

Nearly 500 guests are expected to attend the Conservancy’s annual fundraising event, which supports critical maintenance, environmental stewardship and community programming that preserve the Park’s vitality for generations to come.

The Conservancy is grateful to The Speedwell Foundation for its support as presenting sponsor. Tickets and sponsorship information can be found by visiting piedmontpark.org.
