The Works Welcomes Three New Retail Concepts

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, April 13th, 2026

Selig Enterprises’ The Works announced today three new retail concepts, all offering hands-on experiences, will open in the Makers Building this year, including a body butter ice cream parlor, unique floral retail and workshop space with a first-of-its-kind culinary studio. Two of the tenants, Summer Breeze Flowers & Gifts and The Food Work Shop, originated from Chattahoochee Food Works, while The Body Creamery will debut as a brand new concept.

"The Works has always been a destination for the unexpected, home to businesses and spaces designed to provide truly unique experiences," said Mindy Selig, Co-CEO of Selig. "The Body Creamery, Summer Breeze and The Food Work Shop embody that spirit perfectly, giving guests the kind of immersive, hands-on experiences you simply can't find anywhere else in Atlanta."

Summer Breeze Flowers & Gifts, a family-owned floral and gift shop, is expanding its footprint at The Works for the second time since opening in 2021. The space is growing from its 280-square-foot stall within the food hall to a 1,500-square-foot retail space, creating room for events, additional floral coolers, same-day pickup and a larger retail selection. Known for its European-style arrangements, Summer Breeze will also host monthly workshops for the community. This marks the shop’s third location in Atlanta, adding to its Johns Creek and Doraville stores.

“This growth reflects the support we’ve received since day one,” said Summer Hang, founder of Summer Breeze. “Whether it's for an event, celebration, gift or a girls' night out, we hope to offer our community an experience that goes beyond that of a traditional flower shop.”

Robert Montwaid, owner of the 31-stall Chattahoochee Food Works, will debut The Food Work Shop, a culinary studio with a demo kitchen for interactive cooking classes, chef-led dinners and private events. The 1,200-square-foot space will also feature a retail component offering a mix of cooking supplies, local goods and produce, gifts and more.

“The Food Work Shop is a natural evolution of what we started at Chattahoochee Food Works," said Montwaid. "This next chapter allows us to engage with our guests in new ways. This will benefit our current food stall vendors as well as deepen our reach within the local culinary community.”

The Body Creamery is a brand-new concept from Octavia Jones, the owner of popular body butter pop-up experience, The Skintimacy Bar. The Works location will feature a front-of-house retail component, where guests choose scoops of various body butter “flavors” modeled after an ice cream parlor. Flavors include marshmallow, peach, lemon grass, coconut, pineapple and more. Half of the store will house a dedicated workshop for classes and private parties, where customers can make their own body butters to take home.

“The Body Creamery is a truly unique concept that brings an interactive, sensory-driven experience to The Works,” said Jones. “We wanted to create a space where self-care feels fun, approachable and personalized, turning everyday skincare into a memorable experience you can share with others.”

Summer Breeze Flowers & Gifts and The Food Work Shop will open this spring, while The Body Creamery will open later this year. For more information on The Works, visit theworksatl.com and follow along on Instagram and Facebook via @theworksatl.
