Atlanta Housing Names Interim Chief Operating Officer Ahead of Executive Leader’s May 8th Retirement

Today, Atlanta Housing announced the appointment of Sharese M. Reyes as Interim Chief Operating Officer, effective upon the retirement of Chief Operation Officer Dwayne C. Vaughn on May 8, 2026.

Reyes, who will serve in a dual capacity while maintaining her role as General Counsel, brings more than 20 years of public-sector leadership to the office. 

“Atlanta Housing is moving forward with clarity, strength, and a deep bench of leadership,” said President and CEO Terri M. Lee.  “We continue to be grateful for the 16 years of service Dwayne C. Vaughn has given to Atlanta Housing. As he closes out his career and moves into retirement, operational continuity and capable leadership are part of the legacy he has built and leaves behind. Sharese Reyes is a smart and strategic leader and we are grateful for her willingness to serve in this expanded capacity.”

A national search for the Chief Operating Officer of Atlanta Housing remains underway.
