Georgia Tech Unveils its Self-Driving Manufacturing Facility

Georgia Tech just opened a new facility that will support the use of robotics and artificial intelligence to accelerate manufacturing.

Robots move between machines inside Tech’s Advanced Manufacturing Pilot Facility. According to the college, this is the nation’s first university-based, self-driving manufacturing lab. The facility uses robotics and AI to automate work that would normally require people to complete.

“We’re going to accelerate the adoption of AI across Georgia’s manufacturing sectors. We’re gonna upskill our workforce to drive long-term industrial and economic growth,” said Georgia Tech President Ángel Cabrera.
