Thursday, May 28th, 2026
Rohadfox Corporation, one of the nation’s oldest minority-owned construction and program management firms, marked its 50th anniversary in Atlanta with a milestone celebration honoring its legacy, leadership, and continued community impact. The “50 Shades of Blue” event brought together civic leaders, business executives, and community partners to reflect on the company’s role in shaping infrastructure and transportation projects that support Atlanta’s growth and development.
Among those in attendance were Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens; Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioners Dana Lemon and Stacey Key; Atlanta City Council members Marcia Collier Overstreet, Byron Amos, and Andrea Boone; Union City Mayor Vince R. Williams; Commissioners Neat Robinson and Carlotta Harrell; and Keith Parker—a cross-section of leadership spanning government, transportation, and community.
The room, filled with shades of blue, reflected the tone of the evening—symbolizing calmness and peace, trust and loyalty, as well as the reliability, stability, wisdom, and intelligence that have defined Rohadfox Corporation’s 50-year journey. The atmosphere carried a sense of both reflection and recognition—an understanding of what it takes to build and sustain a company over five decades in an industry where longevity at this scale is rare.
The evening reached a defining moment during the formal program, when the City of Atlanta officially declared May 15 as “Joy Rohadfox Day,” recognizing CEO Joy Rohadfox for her leadership, her impact on the infrastructure industry, and her ongoing commitment to creating opportunities within the community.
“This recognition from the City of Atlanta is not only an honor, but it also reinforces the responsibility we carry to continue creating impact through our work, our partnerships, and our presence in the community,” said Joy.
In remarks delivered during the program, Mayor Dickens emphasized that Rohadfox’s leadership reflects the kind of sustained impact that strengthens cities—pointing to its contributions to infrastructure and its commitment to expanding opportunity as central to the recognition. For Rohadfox, the milestone itself represents something deeper—an accumulation of purpose, persistence, and partnership over time.
“Fifty years is not simply a milestone—it is a testament to faith, fortitude, and the relationships that carried us here,” said Joy. “This celebration honors my father’s founding vision, the employees who built alongside him, and the partners and clients who believed in us when doors were not always open. Every project, every challenge, and every breakthrough helped shape who we are today.”
That legacy continues to shape how the company defines its responsibility moving forward. As part of its corporate social responsibility approach, Rohadfox incorporated the “Step Forward with Rohadfox” initiative into the milestone celebration, donating more than 600 pairs of shoes to Atlanta Mission—underscoring a commitment rooted in action. Community impact is embedded in its operating philosophy, ensuring that as it builds infrastructure, it also invests in the well-being of the communities it serves.
“Shoes represent more than necessity,” Rohadfox added. “They symbolize movement, dignity, and forward progress. As we celebrate 50 years of walking boldly in our purpose, we are committed to helping others take their next step with confidence and hope.”
Founded in 1976, Rohadfox Corporation has grown into a global, woman-owned, women-led firm specializing in construction and program management. The company has contributed to major aviation, transportation, and infrastructure projects supporting the growth and development of cities across the United States. The 50th anniversary celebration underscored both the company’s history and its forward trajectory, grounded in innovation, long-term partnerships, and community impact.
Fifty years in, Rohadfox Corporation’s story is no longer just about longevity. It is about continuity—of leadership, of relationships, and of purpose—shaping not only infrastructure, but the communities connected to it. For Rohadfox, building infrastructure has never been separate from building community—it’s always been the foundation of both.
