This summer, the Piedmont Park Conservancy is offering a full slate of seasonal programming designed to bring Atlantans together through shared experiences in the city’s most iconic green space. From outdoor fitness classes and guided walks to craft nights and community markets, the summer lineup provides opportunities for people to connect with the Piedmont Park, their neighbors and the city they call home.

As the nonprofit organization responsible for preserving and enhancing Piedmont Park, the Conservancy has long offered seasonal activities that provide meaningful ways for residents and visitors to engage with the Park while strengthening community connection and shared stewardship.

“Piedmont Park has a way of bringing people together,” said Doug Widener, President and CEO of Piedmont Park Conservancy. “These events create welcoming spaces for people to connect with one another, explore shared interests and discover the Park in new ways. Whether you’re a longtime Atlanta resident or visiting for the first time, there is something for everyone.”

In addition to fostering connection, the Conservancy’s summer calendar emphasizes accessibility, with a mix of free and low-cost offerings designed to make the Park easy to experience for people of all ages and backgrounds. It also supports local artists, instructors, farmers and community partners who contribute to the Park’s programming and experience.

This summer's featured lineup includes:

Community Craft Night: Free monthly gatherings where creativity and sustainability come together. Using recycled materials provided by Scraplanta, participants can experiment with new craft projects, continue works in progress and connect with fellow makers in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Community Game Night: Free monthly evenings of classic games, conversation and community connection. Participants can enjoy favorites such as mahjong and chess or bring their own games to share with others.

Yoga in the Park: Free outdoor yoga classes held throughout the summer in partnership with Dancing Dogs Yoga and lululemon, welcoming participants of all experience levels for movement, mindfulness and fresh air.

Walking Club: Weekly 45-minute guided walks every Tuesday at 10 a.m. that explore different areas of the Park while offering opportunities to learn more about Piedmont Park and the Conservancy.

Summer Strolls: Seasonal guided evening walks that invite participants to experience the Park’s landscapes, wildlife and natural beauty during the cooler hours of the day.

History Tours: Guided tours exploring Piedmont Park’s rich history and its connection to Atlanta’s growth, from major expositions to its evolution into one of the city’s most beloved public spaces.

Green Market: A Piedmont Park tradition for more than 20 years, The Green Market takes place every Saturday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., when visitors can shop fresh produce, baked goods, specialty foods and handcrafted products from local farmers, producers and artisans.

Piedmont Park Pool: Summer pool passes are now on sale, providing access to one of Atlanta’s favorite seasonal destinations for swimming, recreation and family fun.

Garden Mixology: Hands-on workshops in the Community Garden demonstrating how fresh herbs and seasonal ingredients can be incorporated into cocktails. Participants enjoy samples while learning new techniques inspired by the season’s harvest.

Figure Drawing: Monthly sessions featuring a live model and a mix of short gesture and longer poses, offering artists of all skill levels an opportunity to practice and refine their drawing techniques in a welcoming environment.

These summer experiences reflect the Conservancy’s ongoing commitment to ensuring Piedmont Park remains an accessible and welcoming destination for all. From fitness and education to arts and community traditions, the season’s activities help strengthen the Park’s role as a vibrant public gathering place in the heart of Atlanta.
