Unexpected Atlanta Tours & Gifts, the award-winning local tour company, will celebrate the Grand Opening of Atlanta’s first Local Tourism Hub with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, June 12, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., at 121 Luckie Street NW in Downtown Atlanta, steps away from Centennial Olympic Park and FIFA World Cup games.

The Hub goes far beyond a gift shop and visitor’s center. Serving as a gateway to all things Atlanta, the Hub offers daily biscuit and pimento cheese making classes, proprietary three-wheel Zyppi scooter tours, immersive neighborhood tours, and hands-on street art experiences. Every interaction is led by guides, historians, food experts, and storytellers who are deeply and passionately invested in Atlanta’s culture.

The Hub also features a curated local gift shop stocked with Atlanta-made products, specialty foods, books, and souvenirs, providing a platform for local artisans, makers, and businesses to connect directly with visitors. Guests can browse, shop, and book tours all in one place, with staff on hand to offer personalized recommendations for restaurants, neighborhoods, history sites, cultural events, and off-the-beaten-path experiences across the city.

Founder Akila McConnell explains, “Atlanta is more than an aquarium and an airport. It’s a city with soul: extraordinary food, incredible artists, living history, and the warmest people you’ll ever meet. You can’t experience Southern hospitality through an app; the Tourism Hub exists so visitors can feel what makes Atlanta special.”

Since 2015, Unexpected Atlanta Tours has thrilled over 37,000 guests through award-winning tours, cooking classes, educational programs, and corporate experiences, making it the city’s #1 rated tour and activity on Tripadvisor. The Tourism Hub represents the company’s most ambitious step yet in fulfilling its mission of sharing unexpected stories that matter through passion, honesty, and Southern hospitality.

Media, community partners, and the public are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting and experience the Hub firsthand on June 12 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. The Tourism Hub is located at 121 Luckie Street NW, steps from many of Downtown Atlanta’s major attractions.
