Georgia Wellstar Health System Cuts Hundreds of Jobs

Georgia’s Wellstar Health System announced Tuesday that it is cutting 761 jobs, amounting to about 2% of its workforce. Officials say the layoffs don’t affect its frontline healthcare employees.
In a written statement, a Wellstar spokesman said the layoffs are intended to streamline operations across the organization.
The cuts affect workers in Wellstar’s corporate, ‘shared services’ and administrative roles.
