The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and Champlain College Online (CCO) have signed an agreement that establishes direct transfer pathways for associate degree graduates into CCO's online bachelor's degree programs. The agreement allows eligible students to carry their associate degree toward a four-year degree and pay a reduced “community college alumni” tuition rate.

Under the agreement, a TCSG associate degree is accepted as a block of 60 credits toward an eligible CCO program pathway. Beyond that block, students may request up to 30 additional transfer credits where CCO offers comparable required or elective courses, for a total of up to 90 transferable credits. Coursework completed with a grade of “C” or higher transfers based on course category or course equivalents.

"This agreement continues our growth beyond the Northeast and deepens our presence in Georgia,” said Jamie Camp, TruED* Relationship Manager at Champlain College Online. “TCSG is exactly the kind of forward-thinking college system we want to partner with, and it lets us build college relationships as strong as the employer relationships we've spent years cultivating there."

*TruED is CCO's employer partnership program, which works with organizations to expand education access for their employees.

To qualify, students must have graduated from a TCSG college with an associate degree, earned at least 60 credit hours, and hold a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Students complete a minimum of 30 credits at Champlain, including 15 credits at the 300 level or higher, and indicate their TCSG affiliation on the CCO application to receive the preferred tuition rate.

CCO may also award credit for non-traditional learning, including military service evaluated by the American Council on Education, prior learning assessments, and exams such as CLEP and DSST, so that students can apply as much prior learning as possible toward their degree.

“TCSG is committed to creating seamless pathways that help students continue their education, advance their careers, and meet the evolving needs of Georgia’s workforce,” said Greg Dozier, Commissioner of The Technical College System of Georgia. “This partnership with Champlain College Online expands opportunities for our graduates by providing flexible options to pursue a bachelor’s degree while building on the skills and credentials they have already earned. Together, we are helping Georgians take the next step in their educational journey and strengthening the talent pipeline that keeps Georgia the Top State for Talent.”

Final admissions decisions and credit evaluations are made by CCO. More information is available at online.champlain.edu/tcsg
