Alpharetta City Council Votes to Advance North Point Mall Redevelopment/Hockey Arena Project

Alpharetta's city council in a split vote Monday night advanced a major redevelopment plan for the North Point Mall that would include a hockey arena for a potential pitch to the NHL.

A proposal for rezoning and amending the North Point Mall Master Plan by developer Jamestown passed, 4-3.

In addition to the hockey and event arena, the mixed-use development is proposed to include a 4,000-seat music hall, 2,000-seat practice facility and community ice rink, movie theater, hotel conference center, 350-room hotel, 750,000 square feet of office space, 565,000 square feet of dining/retail, 1,385 rental units, 26 acres of public parks and plazas and more.
