Caliber 1 Construction, a commercial general contractor headquartered in Villa Rica, Ga., has been named a winner of the 2026 Metro Atlanta Top Workplaces Award by Axios. With more than 20 years of experience building retail, education, municipal, industrial, and corporate facilities, the company employs more than 85 people and operates across 37 states.
Caliber 1 was also named a Construction Top Workplaces winner, recognizing the company among the best employers in the construction industry nationwide, and earned five Top Workplaces culture awards spanning Innovation, Appreciation, Professional Development, Leadership, and Purpose & Values.
“The Top Workplaces awards belong to every person on this team, because it’s built entirely on what our people said about working here,” said Chris Elliott, CEO of Caliber 1 Construction. “I couldn't be more proud of the people on this team and the culture we've built together — that's what makes this recognition especially meaningful.”
All seven awards are based entirely on employee feedback through a confidential third-party survey administered by Energage LLC. Caliber 1 also ranks in the top 25% within the construction industry for standing by strong values.
With a strong 87% survey response rate, employees rated the company highly across several measures:
-
96% believe the company operates by strong values
-
91% would highly recommend Caliber 1 as a place to work
-
89% expressed confidence in the company's leadership team
-
86% said they are able to work at their full potential
-
85% said their jobs are meaningful
Earlier this year, Caliber 1 earned the 2025 Carroll County Business of the Year award by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. Last year, the company announced a $1.5 million gift to support a new Construction Management Concentration at the University of West Georgia to help address Georgia’s growing demand for construction leaders.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they're allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
