Christian City, a nonprofit serving children, youth and seniors on its nearly 500-acre, multigenerational campus in South Fulton County, has announced changes to its Board of Trustees. Michael Johnston, a partner at Nichols, Cauley & Associates, has been elected board chair. Johnston will lead the Board of Trustees alongside Vice Chair Lisa Masters, Treasurer Leslie Wade, Secretary Bob Hope and Immediate Past Chair Dr. Ed Richardson, DDS.

"Their commitment strengthens our organization and helps ensure we continue providing a place of hope, healing and community for the children, youth and seniors we serve." 

As chair, Johnston, who first joined the board in 2020, will provide strategic oversight and work with Christian City's leadership team and Board of Trustees to advance the organization's priorities and long-term vision.

"Christian City has a remarkable history of serving all generations, and I look forward to helping build on that legacy while supporting the organization's continued growth and impact in the community."

Lisa Masters, who has served on the board since 2024, is a retired senior-level executive with Bank of America and brings experience in leadership development, organizational change and communications to her role as vice chair of the board. Leslie Wade, also a board member since 2024, is a practicing attorney and founder of Wade Law Offices in Fayetteville with more than three decades of legal experience and will serve as treasurer, bringing her legal and financial expertise to the role. Atlanta civic leader Bob Hope, founder of Hope Beckham Espinosa, joined the Christian City board in 2025 and will support the board's governance and communications efforts as secretary. Dr. Ed Richardson, DDS, owns Dental Traditions in Fayetteville and has served on Christian City’s board since 2008 and as chair since 2024. Richardson will provide continuity and institutional knowledge as immediate past chair.

Christian City has welcomed two new trustees to its board: George Martin and Dr. Christie Burton of Clayton State University. Martin previously spent 15 years on Christian City's staff, primarily as chief operating officer, and twice served as interim CEO during leadership transitions. He will also serve on the board of Christian City's supporting organization, which oversees the transfer of the organization's endowment fund. Dr. Burton has been a member of the faculty at Clayton State University since 2004 and is a veteran of the United States Army. Her areas of expertise include human resources and organizational culture. 

Christian City’s Board of Trustees provides strategic guidance and oversight for an organization now serving more than 1,000 people on its campus. The organization is entering an exciting period of growth, with plans to break ground on the new Early Learning Center this fall and continue investing in programs, facilities and services that support children, families and adults across the community.
