Town Center Community to Host Fifth Annual State of the District on Oct. 27
Monday, August 17th, 2026
Town Center Community will host its fifth annual State of the District on Oct. 27 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Governors Gun Club in Kennesaw. The annual gathering brings together community leaders, stakeholders, partners and supporters for a forward-looking conversation about the growth, vitality and continued evolution of one of Cobb County’s key corridors.
As the organization prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027, this year’s event will launch a year-long campaign recognizing the partnerships, investments and shared vision that have shaped the Town Center area. The program will highlight major district accomplishments, including mobility and connectivity improvements, green spaces, public art and placemaking investments, and provide an exclusive first look at Town Center’s 30-Year Vision Master Plan, a comprehensive roadmap for the district’s future growth and connectivity.
“Our upcoming 30th anniversary celebration is an opportunity to recognize the vision that launched Town Center Community and the collective efforts that have helped it grow into the vibrant district it is today,” said Tracy Styf, executive director of Town Center CID. “We look forward to bringing the community together at the State of the District to mark this milestone and preview what’s next for Town Center.”
This year’s program will include a fireside chat with Washington, D.C.-based urban design leaders Erik Aulestia, principal of planning and urban design at Torti Gallas + Partners, and Jon Stover, founder and managing partner of Jon Stover & Associates, as well as a community update from Tracy Styf. The discussion will be moderated by Eric Bosman, senior vice president at Kimley-Horn.
Town Center CID will also recognize a Community Champion for outstanding contributions to the community and a Commercial Champion for helping advance a vibrant, connected Town Center through investment, business leadership or community engagement. Nominations are open through Sept. 23 and can be submitted through Town Center CID’s website.
Proceeds from the State of the District will benefit the Lanie Shipp Hoover Fund, which supports future trail, park and greenspace projects throughout the Town Center Community. The fund’s first project is transforming an unusable remnant parcel at the roundabout on Barrett Lakes Boulevard into a nearly four-acre park featuring sidewalks, open green space, a small gathering plaza, shaded seating and native landscaping.
The 2026 State of the District is presented by Kennesaw State University, with sponsorship opportunities available for organizations looking to support the event and engage with the Town Center Community.
Tickets and sponsorships opportunities are available at towncentercid.com.
