There are some places that make you feel like you're part of the in crowd, even if you're traveling solo. The Tess, a new Atlanta hotel, is one of them. I arrived at night, when stylish guests were sipping cocktails in a lobby bar, with globe pendant lights casting a soft glow above conversation areas drenched in leather, brass, and rich textiles.

In a few short months, The Tess, formerly The Thompson Atlanta-Buckhead, has become the gathering place for the "it crowd" in Atlanta's trendy Buckhead neighborhood with offerings like the lobby bar, a rooftop terrace restaurant, a podcast studio, and chic guest rooms steps away from some of the city's best shops and restaurants.
