CHRIS 180 will host
Healing Forward: A Community Conversation on Mental Health at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Georgia Power Company,
241 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE in Atlanta.
The event will bring together mental health professionals, community leaders and advocates for an open discussion about the realities of mental wellness and the pathways to healing. Attendees will have an opportunity to listen, learn and explore how individuals and communities can move forward toward a healthier, more connected future.
“We know that conversations about mental health can help reduce stigma, connect people with resources and remind those who are struggling that they are not alone,” said Cati Diamond Stone, President and CEO at CHRIS 180. “This panel discussion will help create space for our community to learn from one another and consider how each of us can support mental wellness.”
Dr. Raé N. Lundy, Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Director of Counseling Services at Georgia State University, will serve as moderator. Panelists include:
-
Melissa Bauman-Fletcher, Vice President of School-Based Mental Health, CHRIS 180
-
Dr. Marcus “Chris” Griffith, Physician, Kaiser Permanente
-
Rita Mathis, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
-
Dr. Francois Williams, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, Mercer University School of Medicine
The conversation is free and open to the public, but space is limited. To reserve a spot, email Vonda Malbrough at
