Metro Atlanta City Considers Lowering Speed Limits

The city of Decatur is launching a citywide speed study to evaluate potential speed limit reductions on city-owned streets currently signed above 25 mph.
Municipal data collection is underway using black tubes stretched across roadways and cameras installed at select locations. These instruments are gathering information on vehicle volumes, vehicle speeds, vehicle types and bicycle and pedestrian activity.
