Atlanta Braves, Delta Air Lines & the American Red Cross of Georgia Host Third Annual Blood Drive Honoring Morgan Delaney

The American Red Cross of Georgia, in partnership with the Atlanta Braves and Delta Air Lines, invites donors to give blood in memory of Morgan Delaney, a University of Georgia student whose courageous battle with cancer highlighted the lifesaving importance of blood and platelet donations. The third annual blood drive will occur Nov. 2-3, 2026, at Truist Park.
Honoring Morgan's Legacy
Morgan Delaney was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer during Thanksgiving 2022. Throughout her treatment, she relied on blood and platelet transfusions as she underwent chemotherapy and radiation. Though Morgan passed away in September 2023, shortly after her 21st birthday and while a senior at the University of Georgia, her legacy lives on by helping others understand the critical role blood and platelet donations play in cancer treatment.
Holiday Need for Blood Donations
The need for blood never takes a holiday. While hospital demand remains constant, blood donations often decline during the busy holiday season due to travel schedules, seasonal illnesses and winter weather disruptions. Blood products cannot be manufactured and must come from volunteer donors, making community support especially important during this time of year. Every blood donation can help patients facing cancer, trauma injuries, chronic illnesses, surgeries and other medical emergencies. Donors who give at this special blood drive will honor Morgan's memory while helping ensure lifesaving blood products are available for patients in need.
