Kroger’s Atlanta Division celebrated the completion of a $1.6 million renovation at its Howell Mill Square Kroger in Atlanta with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration on Friday, Oct. 9.
Kroger associates, community partners and guests gathered at the store, located at 1715 Howell Mill Road NW, to commemorate the investment and unveil the newly renovated departments.
Since 2020, Kroger’s Atlanta Division has added 13 new stores, built 19 fuel centers and remodeled 74 stores. In total, the division has invested nearly $600 million in Atlanta Division communities.
“Our purpose is to Feed the Human Spirit, and every day, we bring that purpose to life by creating a place where our customers love to shop,” said Tammie Young-Ennaemba, head of communications and public affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division.
The renovation included new Fresh for Everyone décor, a new floral department and Murray’s Cheese shop; updated dairy, produce, meat and seafood departments; a new pharmacy consultation room; and additional interior infrastructure improvements.
As part of the celebration, Kroger recognized its Partners in Education: E. Rivers Elementary School, Campbell Middle School and North Atlanta High School. Kroger also recognized its Zero Hunger | Zero Waste partner, the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
“In keeping with Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste commitment, our contractors and partners diverted 97% of construction waste from landfills during the renovation project,” Young-Ennaemba said.
