Beloved Atlanta Christkindl Market Doubles in 2026 with Two Metro Atlanta Locations

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, October 26th, 2026

The beloved Atlanta Christkindl Market is doubling its metro Atlanta footprint this holiday season, returning to Lawrenceville for a second year while debuting a brand-new location in Senoia. Following the tremendous success of its move to Lawrenceville in 2025, the Atlanta Christkindl Market will bring its authentic German Christmas market tradition to two distinct destinations in 2026, offering free admission, handcrafted gifts, artisan vendors, traditional German food and family-friendly holiday entertainment.

The Lawrenceville market opens Nov. 20, the Friday before Thanksgiving, while the new Senoia market opens Nov. 27, Black Friday. Both markets will remain open through Christmas Eve, giving families across metro Atlanta more opportunities to experience the sights, sounds, flavors and traditions of a German Weihnachtsmarkt.

“We had such extraordinary success in Lawrenceville last year that we thought it was time to expand to a second metro Atlanta location,” said Marco Foelske, COO of GA Events Corp., which operates the markets. “We’re excited to bring the Christkindl Market to Senoia, which offers a Hallmark movie feel in a lovely area just off Main Street. While both markets celebrate the same authentic German Christmas traditions, each will offer its own unique holiday experience.”

Two Markets. Two Distinct Holiday Experiences.

The Lawrenceville Christkindl Market will once again transform the Lawrenceville Lawn into one of the Southeast’s largest Christmas markets. The expansive market is expected to feature approximately 100 booths representing 70 to 80 vendors, creating a lively holiday destination with a large entertainment stage, the market’s signature 112-foot Ferris wheel, a children’s activity area and the return of renowned German ornament retailer Käthe Wohlfahrt. Santa will also make appearances on Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons throughout the season.

The Lawrenceville market successfully relocated from Buckhead in 2025 after outgrowing its longtime home. The move provided significantly more space for vendors, attractions and guests, along with ample free parking and a walkable downtown setting. The result was the market’s most successful season to date, with record-breaking attendance and vendor sales.

By contrast, the new Senoia Christkindl Market is designed to embrace the city’s small-town character. Located at 158 Seavy Street, just off historic Main Street in a tree-lined setting, the market will feature approximately 50 booths with about 35 carefully curated vendors, creating a cozy, storybook atmosphere.

A traditional 15- to 20-foot German Christmas pyramid will serve as the market’s welcoming centerpiece, inviting guests to stroll through an intimate collection of artisan vendors while exploring one of Georgia’s most picturesque downtowns.

“In Senoia, the city is the destination for visitors, not just our market,” Foelske said. “We are practically embedded into Main Street, allowing guests to experience the magic of both the Christkindl Market and one of Georgia’s most charming small towns. It’s a completely different experience than Lawrenceville, but every bit as authentic.”

Authentic German Traditions, Local Vendors and Holiday Favorites

While each location will have its own personality, visitors can expect the same authentic German holiday traditions at both markets. Many favorite vendors will participate in both locations, offering handcrafted ornaments, holiday décor, jewelry, toys and unique gifts alongside traditional German specialties including chimney cakes, bratwurst, raclette, roasted nuts, hot chocolate and Glühwein.

Each market will also feature local artisans unique to its community, giving guests a reason to visit both destinations throughout the holiday season.

Since 2016, the Atlanta Christkindl Market has introduced generations of families to the centuries-old German Christmas market tradition through authentic food, handcrafted gifts, artisan vendors and festive holiday entertainment.

Whether visitors are drawn to the festive energy and dazzling lights of Lawrenceville or the timeless charm and nostalgic atmosphere of Senoia, the Atlanta Christkindl Market offers two distinct ways to celebrate the holiday season while preserving the authentic spirit of Germany’s cherished Christmas market tradition.
