The Georgia Chamber of Commerce commends Governor Brian Kemp and the local leaders of Macon-Bibb, Peach, and Houston counties following today’s announcement of Audi AG’s planned $4 billion manufacturing facility at the Middle Georgia Megasite in Peach County. The investment is expected to bring approximately 4,500 jobs to Middle Georgia, reflecting years of regional collaboration and a shared commitment to economic growth.

Chris Clark, President & CEO, Georgia Chamber of Commerce, said:

“Georgia’s economic development success starts with strong local leadership and a shared commitment to building a brighter future for our communities. We thank Governor Kemp for strengthening Georgia’s competitiveness and applaud the leaders of Macon-Bibb, Peach, and Houston counties along with the county commissioners, local chambers, and utility partners who have helped advance this opportunity. This announcement highlights what is possible when state and local partners share a vision for Georgia’s long-term economic growth."

The Development Authority of Peach County, in partnership with the Mid-Georgia Gateway Joint Development Authority, comprised of Houston, Macon-Bibb, and Peach counties, has worked alongside the state over the last several years to prepare the Middle Georgia Megasite for investment. With industrial utilities, including Georgia Power, Flint Energies, and Fort Valley Utility Commission, adjacent to the site and extensive due diligence completed, the megasite offers the speed to market necessary to support Audi’s goals with an accelerated construction timeline.

Construction of the facility, which is designed to produce up to 200,000 vehicles annually, is scheduled to begin in 2027, with production expected to start in the early 2030s. Audi plans to manufacture premium SUVs tailored to North American customers, positioning the investment to support the company’s growth in one of the world’s leading premium automotive markets.

The planned facility further strengthens Georgia’s position as a leader in automotive and advanced manufacturing. Beyond the investment itself, projects of this scale will create opportunities for local workers, suppliers, and small businesses while supporting economic growth throughout the surrounding region.

The Georgia Chamber looks forward to continuing to work with state and local leaders and business partners to strengthen Georgia’s competitive business climate and support economic prosperity in every region of the state.
