Western Governors University (WGU), an accredited online university, has presented Grady Health System with the 2026 Partner Excellence Award for its longstanding commitment to investing in its employees through education and career advancement while expanding access to healthcare in the Atlanta community.
WGU Regional Vice President Kim Estep, Ph.D., and Senior Partner Success Manager Rick Brown presented the award to Ashley Gresham and the Grady team at WGU’s Impact Dinner on Thursday, October 8.
For more than a decade, Grady has partnered with WGU to create opportunities for its employees to advance their education and careers. More than 100 WGU graduates have worked at Grady, and other employees are currently enrolled at WGU.
Most recently, Grady expanded its reach into South Fulton County with the opening of a new 24/7 emergency department, bringing critical care to a community in need while continuing to build the workforce needed to serve its patients.
“Grady Health System demonstrates what is possible when an organization invests in both its people and the communities it serves,” said Estep. “For more than a decade, Grady and WGU have worked together to create opportunities for employees to build their skills, advance their careers and continue their education. This award recognizes Grady’s commitment to its workforce and its continued impact on the Atlanta community.”
Through its employer partnerships, WGU works with organizations across the country to provide employees with accessible, flexible opportunities to earn degrees and advance their careers. Learn more about Grady Health System at
