Music Milton Opens Season Two with “Mozart in Milton” on October 10th

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Friday, October 9th, 2026

Music Milton will open its second season with Mozart in Milton, an extraordinary evening of chamber music featuring the internationally acclaimed The Vega Quartet, celebrated pianist William Ransom, and renowned clarinetist Laura Ardan. The concert will highlight three of Mozart’s most expressive works: the G Minor Piano Quartet, the Duo for Violin & Viola, and the Clarinet Quintet, widely regarded as one of the crown jewels of the chamber music repertoire.

For longtime Atlanta audiences, the performance marks a meaningful homecoming for Laura Ardan, the retired principal clarinet of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra of 39 years, who held the endowed Robert Shaw Chair and was awarded the Mabel Dorn Reeder Honorary Chair. Though she now resides outside of Georgia, she still performs and teaches across the country. Ardan returns to Georgia after three and a half years for this special appearance, sharing her artistry with Music Milton’s music lovers.

“Opening Season Two with Mozart feels exactly right,” said William Ransom, Music Milton’s Artistic Director; and current Mary Emerson Professor of Music at Emory University. “Season One showed us how deeply Milton embraces world‑class music, and I’m thrilled to return with a new season that expands our reach across genres. From Mozart’s brilliance to jazz, bluegrass, and holiday traditions, Season Two reflects our commitment to bringing exceptional musicians and meaningful musical experiences close to home.”
