According to a recent study by Motorola, 50 percent of people have experienced a cracked smartphone screen. With more than 200 billion smartphones in the U.S., the mobile device repair industry continues to see exponential growth. Leading this charge in 2015 was Staymobile, which dominated the industry by more than tripling the number of locations and workforce and expanding its footprint into the Midwest. Additional moves by the company included the relocation of its headquarters as well as new strategic partnerships and leadership.
"Last year was a turning point for our brand. We have experienced success in years past, but never of this magnitude. Consumers have responded to the quality and speed of our repairs, allowing us to establish a strong customer base to drive traffic to our stores," says Chuck Morrison, president and Chief Marketing Officer of Staymobile. "While the mobile tech repair industry had a solid year, we were able to continue to build on our market share dominance. Our accomplishments this year have set a new pace for us, and we are on track to exceed it in 2016."
Notable achievements for Staymobile in 2015 include opening 36 new stores, inking deals with Walmart and several college bookstores. The charge was led by the brand's strong management, operations and repair teams, which grew by more than 100 employees. In May, Staymobile hired Brian Hutto, who brings more than 20 years of technology and development experience to his role as CEO.
Reaching Half Million and Counting
Staymobile wrapped up 2015 by reaching the half million devices repaired milestone. Carrying this momentum into the New Year, the company is planning to open 50 new locations and rollout a new store prototype, a design set to improve overall efficiency and reduce costs in 2016.
"The future of Staymobile is as bright as ever as we expand into new markets and acquire proven franchise and strategic partners. The dedication and commitment to Staymobile shown by our employees is unrivaled by our competition," says Hutto. "We continue to bring innovation to the space with unparalleled upgrades and solutions that further differentiates us from the industry. We are making all the right moves at all the right times and can't wait to see what 2016 has in store."
