Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Friday, March 24th, 2017

On Wednesday, March 29th, the Atlanta Braves will host An Evening with Hank Aaron in SunTrust Park to celebrate the unveiling of his new statue. The exclusive fundraiser will benefit Aaron's Chasing the Dream Foundation, and the home run king will be on hand to commemorate the occasion. The event will take place from 7-10 p.m. and a limited number of tickets are available to the public.

The evening will also include the official opening of the Hank Aaron Terrace located inside SunTrust Park, where a cocktail reception will take place following the unveiling of the statue. During the cocktail reception, Braves radio broadcaster Jim Powell will moderate a special conversation with Hank Aaron. Guests will also have the chance to participate in a live and silent auction, enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres and entertainment, and take a photo with Hank Aaron.

"We are eager to unveil Hank Aaron's new statue, not only because it celebrates such a historic moment in baseball, but also because it honors one of the most significant men in the history of sports," said Terry McGuirk, Braves chairman and CEO. "The statue is a vital piece of SunTrust Park, and we are delighted that the public can share in this moment while benefiting a wonderful cause."

The statue of Aaron was created by world-renowned artist and Atlanta-based Ross Rossin.

The Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation encourages and rewards academic achievement and endows four-year scholarships for deserving youth who have chosen to pursue their dreams by attending college.
