Hartsfield-Jackson Celebrates Achievements of Air Cargo Community

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport officials, along with the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Atlanta Air Cargo Association, recognized air cargo stakeholders at the annual ATL Cargo Awards celebration Wednesday, June 21st. More than 100 people attended the luncheon, held at the Airport’s North Cargo facility.
“Hartsfield-Jackson is committed to becoming one of the top cargo airports in the country,” said Airport General Manager Roosevelt Council, Jr. “Thanks to the hard work of all of our cargo partners, and in particular today’s award winners, ATL will achieve that goal and continue to serve as the region’s top economic generator.”
ATL moved 648,595 metric tons of cargo in 2016, a 3.58 percent increase over 2015’s total. ATLNext, the $6 billion capital improvement project now underway at Hartsfield-Jackson, includes cargo infrastructure expansion plans that will facilitate continued cargo growth at the world’s busiest and most efficient airport.
During Wednesday’s luncheon, the following businesses and individuals were recognized:
Cargo Airline of the Year – Delta Air Lines.
Belly-Cargo Airline of the Year – United Airlines
All-Cargo Airline of the Year – FedEx
Cargo Employee of the Year – Justin Taylor, Elite Logistics
Freight Forwarder of the Year – Future Forwarding Company
Trucking Company of the Year – J&P Hall Express
