According to the National Restaurant Association's end-of-year survey of 700 American Culinary Federation members, all-day breakfast is the 15th-largest trend in the culinary arena. Embracing this trend is Atlanta-based The Flying Biscuit Café, which celebrates and looks forward to continual franchise growth inside and outside of the Southeast as it hits the milestone of 25 years in business.

With 15 thriving locations, The Flying Biscuit Café brand has been a dominant, regional staple throughout the Southeast since 1993. Recently, the unique breakfast-and-brunch-all-day concept has signed multiple development deals throughout the United States. 2017 brought the franchise its first restaurant in the Texas market, when franchisee Armando Moreno opened a store in the Dallas suburb of Richardson.

"The Flying Biscuit's concept, Southern-inspired food, and eclectic neighborly spirit fit perfectly into Dallas's food landscape," said Moreno, who plans to open two additional stores in the Dallas metro area under a three-store deal. "It's been wonderful to bring a piece of its success to Dallas, and we're thrilled to grow this partnership further."

In addition to expanding within its home state of Georgia (a store in Evans, Ga. is slated to open in 2018, with additional locations planned in the Atlanta metro area), Dallas, and a two-store deal in Houston, expansion plans also include restaurants in Indianapolis; Orlando, Fla.; Charleston, S.C.; and Greenville, S.C. The franchise is expected to have 30 total restaurants open by 2020, effectively doubling its presence in under two years – with sales exceeding $45 million by that same time.

In the face of booming growth, The Flying Biscuit continues to hold a point of pride: Since opening its first location in the Atlanta suburb of Candler Park in 1993, a Flying Biscuit location has yet to close its doors.

"The Flying Biscuit has become a neighborhood institution, a place where guest can count on a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and a wide variety of great food made with fresh ingredients," says Brent Fuller, Brand Leader for the Flying Biscuit Café. "With the positive reception and interest we've received in entering additional markets, we know that there is a place for our concept and our brand. We're excited to have grown as much as we have over our first 25 years, and we look forward to continuing it in the future."
