Dentons, the world's largest law firm, announces the elevation of members of its award-winning Public Policy practice to leadership positions. Eric Tanenblatt, former chief of staff to then-Governor Sonny Perdue (R-GA), now US Secretary of Agriculture under President Donald Trump, and longtime strategist who served in three Republican presidential administrations, has been named chair of Dentons' Global Public Policy and Regulation practice. He remains head of the Firm’s US Public Policy practice. Edward Lindsey, former Republican Majority Whip in the Georgia General Assembly, will head the Firm's Georgia State Government Affairs team.

These elevations follow the recent arrival of former Georgia Attorney General Samuel Olens (R-GA), who joins former Georgia AG Thurbert Baker in the firm's State Attorneys General practice.

Tanenblatt began his career in the administration of President George H. W. Bush. He later served as a senior advisor to the late U.S. Senator Paul Coverdell and as chief of staff to then-Governor Perdue, Georgia's first Republican governor in 130 years. In 2008, Tanenblatt was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve on the board of the Corporation for National and Community Service, a position he held until 2013.

Lindsey is a partner at Dentons and has more than 32 years of legal, political and leadership experience, including ten years as a Georgia State Representative and three terms as the House Majority Whip. He also served on the House Appropriations, Judiciary, Education, Ways and Means and Rules Committees. As the leader of Dentons' Georgia State Government Affairs team, Lindsey will connect clients in the public and private sectors on effective engagement and management of policy matters in Georgia's statehouses. The Georgia state team consists of a number of experienced Georgia lawyers and professionals, including Dan Baskerville, Mark Burkhalter, Virgil Fludd, Gordon Giffin, Steve Labovitz, Robert Sills, Elmer Stancil and Lem Ward.
