General contractor Brasfield & Gorrie recently joined the owner of the property, New City Properties, to mark a milestone in the construction of 725 Ponce, a new mixed-use office building situated along Ponce de Leon Avenue and the Atlanta BeltLine.
During a recent ceremony, construction crews celebrated the topping out milestone, which signals the completion of the final level of the facility’s concrete structure.
The 12-story, 949,300 sq ft structure consists of 370,000 sq ft of office space, a three-level, 1,070-space, 466,400 sq ft below-grade parking deck and an 65,000 sq ft Kroger grocery store. Featuring rooftop terraces with views of the Historic Fourth Ward Park, Ponce City Market, and the Atlanta skyline, as well as divided-light windows and exposed concrete, the building will complement the industrial character of repurposed historic buildings in the area.
Designed and constructed with sustainability in mind, the facility is pursuing LEED Silver certification. It will be one of the largest structures ever created with CarbonCure concrete, which traps carbon dioxide emissions.
Brasfield & Gorrie is collaborating with Cooper Carry, Uzun + Case and S9 Architecture on this project, which is slated for completion in spring of 2019.
