May Virtual Marquee Monday Features Executives from Atlanta's Professional Sports Teams

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Friday, May 8th, 2020

The Cobb Chamber will take its signature event, Marquee Monday, virtual for a May 11 luncheon with a panel of Atlanta’s sports teams executives.

The panelists will include Derek Schiller, President and CEO of the Atlanta Braves; Steve Koonin, CEO of the Atlanta Hawks; Rich McKay, President and CEO of the Atlanta Falcons; and Darren Eales, President of Atlanta United FC. They will share how their team is adapting to the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic and how sports can unite us during uncertain times.

“Sports unite us in such a unique way, and I can think of no better way to rally the community than to have a forum with these leaders and support our great teams,” said John Loud, Cobb Chamber 2020 Chairman and President of LOUD Security Systems. “As I talk to people in the community, there is a lot of anticipation and excitement at the thought of live sports returning. We’re excited to hear from the leaders of our Atlanta sports organizations regarding their thoughts on the way forward for our teams.”

Also during the event, Wellstar Health System will deliver a community update. For more information on how to support Wellstar’s health heroes, visit Wellstar Foundation's COVID-19 Relief Fund at wellstar.org/foundation/pages/covid-19-relief.

“As businesses are in the process of reopening, we wanted to provide this virtual rally to unite us to continue working together to overcome this crisis,” said Sharon Mason, Cobb Chamber President & CEO. “I could not be more proud of how our community has stepped up in the midst of this difficult time, and we look forward to providing this event as a next step to come together in our community’s recovery process.”

This event is free for all to attend and registration for this event will close Friday, May 8, 2020. Register to receive your link to the livestream. In addition, individuals who register before May 8 at 5 p.m., will be entered into a drawing to win free admission to Marquee Monday events for the remainder of the year.
This Virtual Marquee Monday would not be possible without the generous support of Marquee Sponsor Superior Plumbing and Presenting Sponsor Wellstar Health System.
