Georgia Power, Employees & Foundation Invest $21M to Improve Georgia Communities in 2017

Georgia Power released its total charitable giving impact for 2017, including more than $21 million total invested by the company, The Georgia Power Foundation, Inc. and employees in Georgia communities and non-profit organizations throughout the year. Last year alone, 6,000 Georgia Power employees and retirees donated their time to help their neighbors and improve the quality of life in their communities by completing more than 147,000 volunteer hours.

Elavon to Expand Atlanta HQ, Create 180 Jobs

Elavon, a global payments company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of U.S. Bancorp, is investing in its integrated payments and eCommerce businesses and expanding its presence in Atlanta, with a plan to hire approximately 180 new employees during the next three years. BitPay Closes Extended $40M Series B Round

BitPay, the largest global blockchain payments provider, closes its $40 Million extended Series B funding round, which brings its total raised capital to over $70 Million. New investors in BitPay include Menlo Ventures, Capital Nine, G Squared, Nimble Ventures (an affiliate of Passport Capital) and Delta-v Capital as well as individual investments from Christopher Klauss Family Office, Founder of Internet Security Systems and Alvin Liu, Co-founder of Tencent. Aquiline Capital Partners led the initial Series B Round, but extended the round due to increased investor demand.
