Atlanta Habitat for Humanity's New President & CEO Lisa Gordon Starts Today

Lisa Y. Gordon will begin her tenure as Atlanta Habitat for Humanity’s President and Chief Executive Officer on Monday, July 6, 2015. The Atlanta Habitat board of directors announced the new hire in May.
Gordon most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for The Atlanta Beltline, Inc., where in her five years led the development of a strategic plan for recreational trails, parks, transportation, and affordable housing among other things. She was previously with the city of Atlanta as the Enterprise Asset Manager and was the city manager of East Point for three years. Before that, she was also assistant city manager in Austin, Texas.
Gordon is extremely excited about the opportunity at Atlanta Habitat and cannot wait to get into the community and meet Atlanta Habitat staff, supporters, volunteers and homeowners and begin the process of strengthening relationships and developing new ones. She is also excited about developing a new strategic plan with the board of directors to explore new ways to serve more families, develop more affordable housing, and improve Atlanta's neighborhoods.
Recognized as a strategic leader and consensus-builder, Gordon is a certified public accountant with master’s degrees in both accounting and public administration and a B.A. from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Among other memberships and honors, she serves on the board of directors of Park Pride and recently completed her tenure on the board of Leadership Atlanta. Bisnow magazine recognized her in 2014 as one of the Top 40 Women in Commercial Real Estate, and Women’s Transportation Seminar named her Woman of the Year in Transportation.
Lisa is married to Rick Gordon and they have two children, Armani, 18 and Aliyah, 14.
