The Technology Association of Georgia, one of the nation’s largest state trade organizations dedicated to technology and innovation, recently profiled the emerging tech scene in Cobb County in the latest issue of Hub Magazine.
The article “Cobb on the Cutting Edge” was written by Amy Selby, Cobb Chamber and appears in the magazine’s Hub City feature which offers a glimpse of the communities that make up Georgia’s technology industry. Communities that are profiled each issue are able to showcase the unique attributes, businesses, endeavors and successes that make them a “Hub City” for technology in Georgia.
Selby’s article highlighted the county’s emergence as a hot spot for hospitality technology. Travelport, Lockheed Martin and SITA have a presence in the county as well as high tech venues like the Cobb Energy Center, The Cobb Galleria and SunTrust Park--the future home of the Atlanta Braves. Cobb-based companies like The Home Depot and The Weather Company will also be joined by soon-to-be relocated Central Division headquarters for Comcast Corp.
In addition to the profile on Cobb, the issue features articles from a number of tech companies with a presence in the county including SITA and Travelport. The issue also features a cover article by Eric Pearson, Executive VP & CIO, Intercontinental Hotel Group; Airbnb’s Co-Founder and Georgia native Joe Gebbia; Debra Cannon, Ph.D., Director at the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality Administration at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University.
