J. Wade Weeks Named Office Managing Partner of Grant Thornton’s Atlanta Practice

Grant Thornton LLP named J. Wade Weeks office managing partner of its Atlanta practice. In this role, he will lead the firm’s Atlanta office and oversee marketplace growth and talent development.

Weeks has more than 30 years of experience in professional services, with a focus on the retail sector. Most recently, Weeks served as partner-in-charge of the firm’s Central Florida offices.
“Wade brings a combination of proven leadership skills, vast knowledge and a strong understanding of our dynamic clients’ needs throughout the Atlanta marketplace,” said Dave Wedding, Grant Thornton’s Mid-South managing partner and chairman of the firm’s Partnership Board. “He will be integral in building upon the long track record of success and momentum that the seasoned leaders and audit, tax and consulting teams established for the firm’s Atlanta practice.”
Weeks has extensive experience serving as a partner in the retail and distribution sector. His clients have included a Fortune 100 retailer as well as several national and regional retailers and distributors. He has in-depth experience in public equity and debt offerings, private placement offerings, initial public offerings, going-private transactions and providing U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission compliance services.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Weeks spent three decades at Deloitte LLP, where he served in a variety of leadership roles in the Southeast. He was also the marketplace leader for Deloitte’s Birmingham office and was named to the Who’s Who in Birmingham Law and Accounting and Birmingham’s Most Influential Leaders lists.
Weeks is a certified public accountant in Georgia, Florida and Alabama. He is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. Weeks received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama.
