In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity partnership, Thrivent Financial and Habitat for Humanity today kicked off a monthlong fundraising campaign. During the campaign, Thrivent will add 10 percent to all personal donations and/or Thrivent Choice Dollars® directions made on Thrivent.com to Habitat for Humanity International or any of the 250 Habitat affiliates enrolled in Thrivent Choice.

The U.S. campaign will run from Sept. 8 through Oct. 7, or until $100,000 is awarded in matching grants – whichever comes first.

"Our members, employees and financial representatives have answered the call to make our communities stronger by helping to provide safe, decent and affordable housing to families in the United States and around the world," said Jackie Hintz, vice president of Member Engagement and Growth at Thrivent. "And in the process of generously giving to help change the lives of others, many of the volunteers have been profoundly changed as well."

Since 2005, Thrivent members have committed $213 million and 4.4 million volunteer hours to help 4,000 Habitat homeowners in 34 countries achieve the stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. Thrivent donated $12 million in 2015 to Habitat for Humanity to support the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity partnership, which provides funding and volunteers to help construct or repair homes across the globe.

Thrivent Financial remains the largest non-governmental supporter of Habitat for Humanity International.
