Monday, January 11th, 2016

The Society for Information Management (SIM) Atlanta and the Georgia CIO Leadership Association have raised $107,000 in proceeds from their 2015 Tee it Up for TechBridge Golf Tournament. The record breaking total was revealed at TechBridge’s annual Holiday Sponsor Reception, held on December 10, at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center.

The tournament has been presented by SIM Atlanta since 2006, when they raised $2,000 in proceeds. Last year’s Tee It Up for TechBridge tournament raised $91,500—making this year the largest ever annual increase for the event.

Since we began partnering with TechBridge, support of the SIM tournament has grown year by year leading up to a 14% increase in 2015. This resulted in a fundraising record of $107,000. SIM Atlanta is pleased to support the essential technology programs and services that TechBridge provides to their nonprofit clients. —Harper L. Bronson, SIM Atlanta Chairman

All proceeds benefit TechBridge®, a nonprofit that brings affordable technology and business expertise to other nonprofits driving greater community impact—impact that translates into more children fed, more homeless families sheltered and, ultimately, more lives changed for the better.

GeorgiaCIO is honored to partner with TechBridge through the annual golf tournament. The funds raised allow TechBridge to provide affordable technology and business expertise to even more nonprofits that are diligently serving the needs of others. It’s a fun way for our IT community to tangibly make a difference! —Lisa LaRoque, Executive Director, GeorgiaCIO

A record turnout of 190 golfers, including more than 70 IT executives, participated in the 9th Annual Golf Tournament on Oct. 26, 2015 at the Golf Club of Georgia. Bronson of SIM Atlanta notes that they continuously strive to keep the growing momentum of support going for TechBridge because it “allows the Atlanta nonprofit community to provide more services to a greater population. This only makes our community stronger.” Corporations like Insight, Cisco and RedHat also contributed their support as the keynote sponsors for the 2015 tournament.

As the leaders of IT in companies of all sizes, we know how crucial a part technology plays in an organization’s growth and prosperity. TechBridge is the perfect example of how business technology can be used to help millions of those who need it the most, and we couldn’t be prouder to sponsor them and the necessary work they are doing for the improvement of the nonprofit community as a whole. —Greg Arthur, Insight, Keynote Sponsor
