IBM Southeast Employees’ Credit Union to Host Free, Community Shred Days This Week

IBM Southeast Employees’ Credit Union is pleased to announce Shred Days at four of their Atlanta branches during the month of April 2016.  According to the Javelin Strategy & Research’s 2014 Identity Fraud Study, someone becomes an identity theft victim every two seconds. This free, community-wide event will raise awareness about identity theft and ways to protect oneself.

AAA Security Shredding, a non-affiliated, third-party service provider of IBMSECU will be on site to safely dispose of financial and personal documents. The event will help Members and non-members free up space, eliminate unnecessary theft and security risks, and give them an opportunity to get rid of old, outdated, and useless files. IBMSECU will have experts on site to answer your ID Theft and fraud questions as well as provide free Credit Monitoring and ID Theft/Fraud Protection materials to attendees.  Free refreshments will be served.  Giveaways and a shredder will be raffled off during each Shred Day event.

Michael Miller, CEO of IBMSECU, stated that providing free, ID Theft protection events and information to our Members and the communities we serve is very important to us. “We are very excited to provide this opportunity to our Members and the community to purge personal documents. This free event could possibly protect them from identity theft.”
