Local Design Firm Wins Top Honor for ATL Charter School

For more than 44 years the American Institute of Architects’ AIA Georgia Design Awards program has recognized design excellence for private and public projects created by Georgia architects. Perkins + Will’s Atlanta office has won numerous AIA awards throughout the years, and for the second year in a row has taken the top honor: the institute’s Excellence Award. The Jr. / Sr. Academies Building for Charles R. Drew Charter School in Atlanta was recognized as one of the top designs in Georgia on all levels of analysis.  The winning project team from Perkins + Will included:

Perkins + Will was also awarded a 2016 Merit Award for its work on Atlanta Dairies, an adaptive reuse project. The Atlanta Dairies redevelopment transforms a historic icon into a hub of commercial activity including unique office space and apartments, specialty shopping, dining and entertainment. The team included project manager Allen Post, project designer David Rogers and project team members Erika Morgan, Clara Winston, Steve Summerford and Allen Pratt.
