Roswell Inc Issues Business Report Card

Economic development organization Roswell Inc released its 2015 business report card before City of Roswell Mayor Jere Wood and council. The report shines a spotlight on the city’s key economic indicators, including jobs numbers, office vacancy rates, and employment rate, among other data.
The 2015 Roswell business report card data indicate high marks for the city in the areas of office vacancy – coming in at 9.2 percent – down from 14.9 percent two years earlier.
Additional report card highlights include:
· 649 new business licenses issued last year, generating 2,049 new jobs,
· Construction permits up with 996 issued at a value of $149.3 million,
· Overall unemployment rate of 3.7 percent in 2015, well below the state’s rate of 5.5 percent.
“Roswell’s economic indicators point to our dedicated commitment to attracting and growing business,” said Steve Stroud, executive director of Rowell Inc. “Ongoing efforts from City of Roswell and Roswell Inc, including the three-time expansion of our Opportunity Zone, are paying dividends and boosting business. We fully expect to see continued business momentum in Roswell in the years to come.”
