Tuesday, May 24th, 2016
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport officials will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with their counterparts from Tel Aviv Ben-Gurion International Airport on Tuesday, May 24. The agreement will allow both airports to share their expertise and experience with each other while increasing travel and trade between the world’s most traveled airport and the largest international airport in Israel.
“This agreement marks a new era in cooperation between two dynamic airports and two vibrant cities,” ATL’s Interim General Manager Roosevelt Council Jr. said today. “We look forward to cultivating a wonderful relationship with our colleagues in Tel Aviv.”
This will be the third international MOU ATL officials have signed with sister airports. Earlier this spring, ATL leaders signed a similar agreement with officials from Monsenor Oscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport in El Salvador. In April of 2015, ATL officials signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Felix-Houphouet-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
