Tuesday, August 30th, 2016

The City of Atlanta announced that the Atlanta Streetcar will be free to ride on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 during normal operating hours of 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. This week’s ‘Free Fare Day’ is a way to express appreciation to loyal riders and offer new customers and visitors the opportunity to try the system at no charge.

The Atlanta Streetcar is a public transportation system that runs a 2.7 mile East-West route with 12 stops. It connects the Centennial Olympic Park area to the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic site, and operates seven days a week.

The Atlanta Streetcar provides cost-effective and convenient service for riders to get to work and school. It’s also a great way to visit restaurants, shops and Atlanta’s world-class tourist destinations, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center and Historic Site, the Center for Civil and Human Rights, the Georgia Aquarium, and the College Football Hall of Fame.
