Marietta Art in the Park Brings 175 Fine Artists to Historic Square Labor Day Weekend - Sept. 3rd-5th

Giving folks a reason to stay in town for Labor Day, the 30th Annual Marietta Art in the Park will showcase 175 top-notch fine artists and plenty of entertainment for the entire family September 3-5 in historic Marietta Square. It all takes place amid a variety of dining options and historic sites. Admission is free!

Cobb Travel & Tourism has determined that Marietta Art in the Park has a $4.8 million economic impact annually on Marietta and Cobb County. Locals and visitors alike enjoy this three-day festival that draws more than 45,000 attendees and has also recently been named as a 2016 Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Festival winner. Additionally, Art in the Park staff will receive a Proclamation form Marietta City Council Member Michelle Cooper Kelly on August 10 at the Marietta City Council Meeting.

ART

With fine arts and crafts available for purchase, Art in the Park is Cobb County’s only annual fine art show and offers visitors a fun way to meet and talk with the artists and even see some of the works in progress. This year, Art in the Park is pleased to welcome 175 fine artists from throughout the country as well as select participants from Georgia. In the spacious Artist Market, attendees will be delighted by the range of artists who offer a high level of fine art in media including jewelry made from fine metals and precious stones; ceramics; paintings in watercolor, acrylic, oil and pastel; woodworking; glass; photography; textiles and much more. The affordable original artwork is offered in a variety of price ranges and styles, and the onsite artists will even create custom pieces!

CHALK

The family-friendly weekend also includes the Chalk Spot street art display, benefiting the Marietta High School Art Club. Chalk Spot participation is only $10 per person (for applications postmarked by August 15, 2016), and includes a goodie bag filled with a big box of chalk, two tickets to the North Georgia State Fair, plus other coupons; a $25 value!

MURAL

Art in the Park attendees will have the opportunity to color in the 6-by-20-ft. Monster Mural. This life-size coloring book page will engage young visitors and bring out the kid in attending adults.

KIDS

Kid-sized fun doesn’t end with chalk art. Marietta Art in the Park also includes the Children’s Art Alley, a free interactive “make and take” area.

MUSIC

Visitors to Art in the Park can take a break, enjoy lunch from the surrounding restaurants or onsite food trucks and relax under an umbrella with a beverage while enjoying smooth tunes from Eirinn Abú in the Atlanta Street Music Café.

Art in the Park Festival - Saturday, September 3 - Monday, September 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, includes Children’s Art Alley

Chalk Spot Art Display – Saturday, September 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Art will remain on display through the festival (weather permitting).
