The annual A Meal to Remember black-tie gala, Meals On Wheels Atlanta's largest fundraising event of the year, will be held on Friday, November 4 at The St. Regis Atlanta. The gala dinner will fund a significant portion of the organization's operations and services, which includes preparation and delivery of meals for frail and homebound seniors, as well as home repair, senior centers and an adult day health center. Last year's event raised more than $610,000 to help Atlanta seniors in need.
This year's A Meal to Remember co-chairs include Jovita Moore, anchor - WSB-TV, Audra Dial, managing partner - Kilpatrick Townsend and David York, founder - Barking Hound Village and Sophie's Uptown. All chefs for this year's dinner will be from St. Regis hotels, including Chef Joseph Trevino at St. Regis Atlanta, Chef James Ortiaga at St. Regis Hotel New York, Chef Antonio Bachour at St. Regis Hotel Bal Harbour and Chef Gustavo Sanchez at St. Regis Bahia Beach.
The evening will honor Neiman Marcus, a presenting sponsor and supporter of Meals On Wheels Atlanta for more than 14 years. Cox Enterprises and The St. Regis Hotel-Atlanta also are presenting sponsors. Leading up to the main event, several smaller fashion-related events will tie-in with the theme, "Style is Now Served...An American Cuisine & Couture Experience." Cocktails for a Cause will be held on September 16 with Lafayette 148 designer Edward Wilkerson and a luncheon with guest speaker Paula Wallace, president and founder of the Savannah College of Art and Design, will happen on September 28 at Flourish Atlanta.
