Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful to Welcome Governor Nathan Deal for his Third Environmental Address
Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO
Monday, September 12th, 2016
Having recently welcomed Schelly Marlatt as its new Executive Director and made the move to Lawrenceville from its former Duluth location, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is having a rather “eventful” year. The excitement continues as the environmentally-focused nonprofit prepares to host its third Environmental Address with Governor Nathan Deal at the podium inside the Infinite Energy Forum on September 27. A long-standing tradition at GCB, this event will mark the 10th Governor’s Environmental Address to date. The first Address was given in 2000, featuring a stirring speech by then Governor Roy Barnes. Former Governor Sonny Perdue has shared his views on the environment at a number of Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful Addresses, as well. At this year’s Environmental Address, Governor Deal is expected to speak about the importance of being good stewards of the environment, as well as the effect those efforts can have on the state’s economy.
Marlatt had this to say about the upcoming Address, “I’m delighted to not only be a part of this event but also to share the very important message about the impact our efforts can have on both the environment and economy with a room filled with hundreds of this region’s most influential policy makers, business leaders, and game changers. I look forward to welcoming Governor Deal and hearing his outlook for the future of Gwinnett County and the great state of Georgia.”
The 10th Governor’s Environmental Address will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Infinite Energy Forum from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include a seated lunch. For local businesses and organizations that wish to become a valued part of the Environmental Address, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is actively seeking sponsors at a variety of levels. The highest level offers a seat at the Governor’s table, full page ad in the event program, verbal mention during the presentation and logo predominantly displayed onscreen at the event. All sponsorships come complete with 10 seats at the event and are available via an online registration system through September 12, 2016.
